He is survived by: his spouse Louvenia Wheeler; his children, David Godbolt (Regina), Jeffrey Godbolt (Ronda), Anthony Godbolt, Selina Godbolt and Yumicka Godbolt-Shannon (Alexis Johnson); his siblings, Lula May Page, Irene Godbolt, Helen Poole, Leatha Hudson, Merle Godbolt (Lynn) and Carlton McKellar; his siblings-in-law, James Wheeler (Anne), Barbara Mosley (Daniel), Dolly Mace and Martha Wheeler; and his aunt Mary Blue. He is also survived by daughter, 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
