He is survived by: his wife Sandy Hedgecock Rains; his children, Patrick Rains (Keysha), Brian Leon Guerrero and Sheila Rains; his stepchildren, Melissa Tackas (Ed) and Michael Harmon; his siblings, Barbara Harper, Randy Rains (Cindy) and Jeff Rains (Jenny); his grandchildren, William Rains, Brayden Rains, Mackenzie Rains, Bryan Spencer, Isaiah Michael, Brandon Cox, Andrew Cox, Marissa Leon Guerrero, Joseph Leon Guerrero, Olivia Leon Guerrero and Savannah Fisher; and his siblings' children, Courtney Rains, William T. Rains, Gregory Rains, Garrett Rains, Wyatt Rains, Gavin Rains and Taylor Harper.
