It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Adkins (High Point, North Carolina), born in Beckley, West Virginia, who passed away on September 16, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold S. Adkins and Doris Barker Milam; and his sister Brenda Newsom. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Willard Adkins; his daughters, Shannon Heath (William) and Kim Reaver (Scott); his grandchildren, William James "Jimmy" Heath, Jacob Daniel Heath, Caitlyn Elizabeth Heath and Keri Anne Reaver; his sister Drema Vecellio (Floyd); and his brother-in-law Larry Newsom. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the medical staff of High Point Regional attention to Dale Williams, Chief Medical Officer, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center, 601 N. Elm Street, High Point, NC 27262 to honor all of the doctors and nurses who cared for Mr. Adkins.
