James Layfette Irby Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Layfette Irby (High Point, North Carolina), born in Piedmont, South Carolina, who passed away on August 7, 2019 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maude Reeves Irby and Benjamin Roy Irby; his son James Christopher Irby; his stepmother Elsie Irby; and his brothers, Alford, Calvin and Bobby.
He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Terri Cox (Joe) of Apex, NC and John Irby (Larann) of Niceville, FL; and his brothers, Melvin and Randolph Irby of Pelzer, SC.. He is also survived by four grandchildren, soon to be six great-grandchildren.
