He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Barnes and Elizabeth Keene Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Johnson Barnes; his children, Brad Barnes (Emily) of High Point and Christian Barnes of High Point; his siblings, Jerry Barnes (Terry), Judy Jackson (Jimmy), Jennifer Baysden (Jesse) and Janet Hill (Jason); and his grandchildren, Austin Barnes, Berkeley Barnes, Caleb Shlyapnikov, Joshua Shlyapnikov, Liliana Shlyapnikov and Baby Barnes.
