He is survived by: his husband David Bradley Carpenter; his sons, Justin Carpenter of Massachusetts and Jason Carpenter of California; his sisters-in-law, Christine Phillips, Jamestown, Bonnie Lemons, Greensboro, Dolly Perdue and Stokesdale; and his nieces, Jennifer Rhodes, Patty Hughes and Angie Bradley.
