He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Gray; his mother Virginia Morehead Sims Oliver; his stepfather O. M. "Red" Oliver; and his brother Cullen Oliver. He is survived by: his children, Julie Martin (Chris) of High Point and Jason Sims (Liz) of Kernersville; his siblings, Dora Ann Samuel (Donald) of Illinois and Rusty Oliver (Susan) of Indiana; and his grandchildren, Erica Martin Billings (Dallas), Megan Leigh Martin and Blake Austin Sims.
