He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Otto Brooks and Foy Juanita Clodfelter Brooks; his former wife Patricia Findley Brooks; his stepsons, Shane Tolbert and Daniel Wood; and his brother Thomas Brooks.
He is survived by: his fiancée Annette Graves Turner of Archdale; his stepsons, Shannon Tolbert and Harley Wood of Topsail Beach; his brothers, Donald Brooks and Larry Brooks (Joyce) of Lexington; and his sister-in-law Jo Brooks of King, NC. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
