He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Wesley Avins and Bernice Bassler Avins. He is survived by: his wife Betty Joan Avins; his daughter Lori Johnson of Greensboro; his brother Danny Avins of Ohio; and his grandchildren, Ian Johnson and Quinn Johnson.
