She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Gibson and Carrie Liner Gibson of High Point, NC.; and her significant other Darrell Cecil (Cotton). She is survived by: her children, Pamela Siegel (Ron) of Massachusetts, Larrie May, Carrie Martin (Les), David Cecil (Ann) of Greensboro, Darrell Cecil (Mary Howell) of California, Jana Bailey (Jim) of Greensboro, Kimberly Irby (Dave) of Florida, Kenneth Cecil of Madison, Constance Conn (Rob) of South Carolina and Tommy Cecil (Jan) of Florida; her sisters, Betsy Laughlin (Donald) of Thomasville and Colleen Copple of Winston-Salem; and also, Mike Ferguson of Thomasville and J. R. Gossett of Greensboro. She is also survived by many friends, 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Maxcine had requested any contributions be made to the Regional Cancer Center, the American Cancer Society, or Hospice and Palliative Care, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405, in her name to help with research.
