He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Swainford Stone, Sr. and Lula Britt Stone; his wife Emma Dell Pate Stone; and his sisters, Cleo Susan Stone, Lucella Stone Lee, Janie Stone Hedgpeth, Maggie Stone Prevatte and Rettie Stone Pittman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jacklyn Stone Parker (W. A.) of Lumberton, NC, Paula Stone Monaghan of Lancaster, SC and Sharon Stone Mulkey (Lamar) of Buchanan, GA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
