He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Neely and Virginia Peters Neely. He is survived by: his wife Penny Spencer Neely; his children, James Neely, Jr. (Zoe) of High Point, Christopher Neely (Donna) of Charleston and Tonya Neely of High Point; and his siblings, Bobby Neely of Charleston, Margaret Banton (Dale) of Charleston and Carolyn Canterberry (Bob) of Sinks Grove. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
