He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne "Boots" Simmerson Riddle and Fred Stanton Simmerson; and his grandparents, John "Whitey" and Bea Cauble. He is survived by: his children, Scotty Simmerson of Mint Hill and Joy Bell (Jeff) of Indian Trail; his grandchildren, Rhyley Simmerson and Jaelynn Bell; his siblings, Susie S. Beaver of High Point, Jeannie S. Yost (Donny) of Salisbury and Randy Simmerson (Lisa) of Lexington; and his pet Elsa.
