It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Evitt Houston (Clayton, Georgia), who passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mack Evitt and Delphia Guilliams Evitt. She is survived by: her husband Clinton Houston; her children, Jeff Houston (Ann) of Tiger, GA and Linda Turner of Clayton; her grandchildren, Ashley Swann (John), Ryan Turner (Shannon), Ben Houston, Megan Fonclara (Daniel) and Jacob Houston; and her great grandchildren, Little John Swann, Emmee Mae Swann and Brantley Wade Swann. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bryant-Grant Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Franklin, NC 28734). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Clayton First Assembly of God (128 Valley St, Clayton, GA 30525). A burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at the Evitt Cemetery (101 Evitt Cemetery Rd, Cashiers, NC 28717).
