She was predeceased by: her mother Maureen Walsh Sweerus. She is survived by: her husband Jon Iris; her children, Elizabeth Montanaro (Nicholas) of New Bern, Danielle Iris of Statesville, Diane Iris of Charlotte and Jonathan Iris (Caitlin) of Swansboro; her grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia, Ava, Penelope, Beatrix, Oliver and Lilly; her father Joseph Messina; her stepmother Noreen Messina; and her siblings, Dorothy Anderson, Rebecca Johnson and Joseph Messina, Jr.. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church, Rev. Michelle Bullock discretionary fund, 503 W. Broad St., Swansboro.
