He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace P. Kirby, Sr. and Esther Deal Kirby; his siblings, H. P. Kirby, Lindsey Kirby, Max Kirby, Tommy Kirby, Bernice Starnes, Hallie Hefner, Martha Langley and Sarah Corne; and his grandsons, William Donald and Andrew Alvin Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Hubbard Kirby; his children, Donald Kirby, Jr. (Angie) and Kelly Adams (Tony); his granddaughters, Ellie Adams and Hope Kirby; and his sister Susie Barlowe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
