He was predeceased by: his parent Ralph Hartley Sr.; his child Phyllis Icard Hartley; his sisters, Josephine Austin, Doris Hartley and Beth Hartley; and his brother-in-law William Carroll Rhyne.
He is survived by: his parent Ruth Cooke Hartley; his wife Martha Brown Hartley; his children, Danny Ralph Hartley (Lori) of Hickory, Joey Paul Hartley (Tony) of Hickory, Lisa Hartley Leaming (Bill) of Hickory and Michelle Ann Hartley of Raleigh; his stepdaughter Myronia Greene of Granite Falls; his grandson Jeremy Daniel Hartley (Amber) of Jacksonville, FL; his great grandchild Brylee Ann Hartley; and his stepgrandchildren, Daniel Shane Ferguson (Kristy) and Whitney Marie Ferguson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, NW, Lenoir, NC 28645 Mackie Funeral Home of Granite Falls, NC is serving the family.
