He is survived by: his spouse Mavis Cook Carter; his sons, Jeffrey Wayne Carter and Jaret Lee Carter (Lynne Clough Carter); his siblings, Janice Carter of Lenoir, Juanita Carpenter (Robert) and Albert Deward Carter; and his grandchildren, Dailie Carter Blanton (Trey) of Greenville, SC, Harrison Carter of Raleigh, Aubrey Lynne Carter and Rylee Diane Carter of Lenoir. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
