He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Icenhour Melton of Hudson; his sons, Roger Kirk Melton (Judith) of Hudson and Kevin Eugene Melton (Shannon) of Boone; his grandchildren, Roger Kyle Melton of Charlotte, William Jerrod Melton, Kenny Z. Melton of Lenoir, Jacob Kevin Melton, Troy Zebulon Melton of Rhode Island, Sarah Allecia "Alle" Workman of Boone and Laily Abbegail "Abbe" Workman of Johnson City, TN.; his great grandchildren, Sophia Zambrano, Veronica Zambrano of Lenoir and Jaxon Cavanaugh of Boone; and his sisters, Linda M. Craig (Larry) of Hudson, Kay M. Goodin (Dr) and Tom Goodin, III of Conover. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
