She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Alexander Allen, Sr. and Mary Malissa Oakley Allen; her husband David Ewing Whitfield; and her siblings, Clarine Norris, Pauline Whitfield and Cecil Allen.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gwen W. Newton (Darryl), Jan W. Mitchell, Kathryn W. Simons (Robert), Joan W. Floyd (Wayne) and Dawn W. Howard (Donald); her brother Danny Allen; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Newton (Amber), Jacob Newton (Lauren), Joel Newton (Eleni), Britt Mitchell, Brice Mitchell (Meghan), Shannon Simons, Rob Regan, Ashley Cauwels (Travis), Kristin Regan Dunn (Stephen), Alex Floyd, Aaron Floyd, Hunter Howard Lea (Brandon) and Haley Howard. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
