She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul P. Arant and Bertha McManus Arant; her daughters, Rachel Mullis and Lorna Byrd; and her siblings, Homer Arant and Katey Lee Starnes.
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Starnes, Ted Starnes (Lori), Paula Black (Danny) and Melton Byrd (Sharon); and her brother Tommy Arant of Wingate. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren.
