It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Marie Rhodes Brantley of Jacksonville, North Carolina, who passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eppie Lee Dixon and Ivey A. Rhodes; her husband Elmond Allard Brantley "Bud"; her daughter Willamina Iris Woodson Reel; her grandson Ian Bruce Woodson; and her brother Ivey Eugene Rhodes.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Smith Hight (Al), Ivy Brantley Reid and Hunter Allen Asbury; her grandchildren, Willa Marie Woodson, William Brantley Smith and Andrew Farlow Reid (Hannah); her great grandchildren, Andrew Farlow Reid, Jr. and Adelynn Brantley Reid; her siblings, Nancy Rhodes Bishop (Charles) and Jimmy Carol Rhodes (Nadine); and her caregiver Iris King. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville Sunday (303 Chaney Ave, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Onslow Memorial Park (3280 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
