James Vall left this world on May 27, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathleen VanWinkle and Albert VanWinkle; his former wife Elizabeth Whaley VanWinkle; his wife Jewel Taylor VanWinkle; and his son James Michael VanWinkle.
He is survived by: his sisters, Patricia Whaley and Susan Tregoning; and his stepchildren, Lisa Taylor Howard and Percy Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (4764 Gum Branch Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Onslow Memorial Park (3280 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
