He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurman E. Sewell and Minnie P. Sewell. He is survived by: his wife Doris Hardison Sewell; his sons, Jeffrey Sewell (Debbie), Timothy Sewell (Banita) and Rodney Sewell (Ginger); and his sisters, Esther Hartsfield and Diane Snodgrass. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Community Home Care and Hospice.
