She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul George Carter and Dorothy Frye Carter; her husband Myron; and her siblings, Rosemary Mattheis and Steven Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Buckhalter (Brenda) of Raleigh and Karen Michaux (Robert) of Newport; her sister Joni Wiggins (John) of Hope Mills; her grandchildren, AnnElise, Chasen Weideman of Newport, Eva, Embri and Gianna Michaux of Newport; her sisters-in-law, Dianne Clouse of Jacksonville and Jo Ann Nanes (Tony) of Monroe, GA; and her aunt Carol Beauchamp of Glasgow, KY.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Free Will Baptist Church (919 Gum Branch Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Onslow Memorial Park (3280 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to First Free Will Baptist Church or Gideons International.
