With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirlen Lee Humphrey of Jacksonville, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Humphrey and Lucy Humphrey. He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughters, Kathy (Jerry Mallard), Sandra (Doug Davis) and Wendy (Greg Grantham); his grandchildren, Beth Keith (Ted), Ben Mallard (Megan), Zachary Davis (Lizzie), Hali Grantham (Daniel) and Matthew Grantham; his great grandchildren, Will Keith, Beckett Keith, Katie Mallard, Beau Mallard and Ivy Davis; and his siblings, JD Humphrey, Polly Jarman and Roger Humphrey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville Monday (303 Chaney Ave, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Kellum Baptist Church (1175 Kellum Loop Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28546). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Onslow Memorial Park (3280 Richlands Hwy, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to organizations close to Billy's heart, the Rise to Build fund at Kellum Baptist Church or the Pumpkin Center Fire Department.
