He was predeceased by: his parents, France Beam and Velma Franklin Beam; his wife Cynthia Mixon Beam; his son Richard Allen Beam; and his siblings, Kathleen Clark and Ralph Beam.
He is survived by: his sons, Jesse McDonald Beam (Stephanie) of Morganton and Wayne Beam (Becky) of Morganton; his grandchildren, Amanda Doreen Carpenter (Scott), Jesse Allen Beam (Ramona), Heather and Dustin Pennington; his great grandchildren, Kiley Wallace and Jasmine Beam; his siblings, Juanita Carol Poteat (Dean) of Dysartsville and Joe Beam (Ethel) of Dysartsville; and his siblings-in-law, Cynthia Ann Beam Carver (Joe) of Jonas Ridge and Wesley Clark of Jonas Ridge.
