He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Taft Welborn and Joyce Viola Hemric Welborn. He is survived by: his daughter Emily Blackburn (Ryan) of State Road; his grandchildren, Tenley Hayes, Riley Blackburn, Tegan Hayes, Luke Blackburn and Zoe Blackburn; his sisters, Regina Adkins of Jonesville, Joyce Wright (Calvin) of Jonesville and Cheryl Hutchens (Joseph) of Hamptonville; his nephews, Matthew Whitaker and Andrew Hutchens (Katlyn); his niece Destiny Potts; the mother of his children Janine Cooper; and his close friends, Donna Groce Hutchens, Glenda Gilliam, Gray Durham and Superflex.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Starmount High School, Attn: Football Program, 2516 Longtown Rd., Boonville, NC 27011.
