He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Nicholas and Ersie Cottrell Nicholas; his children, Tammie Mae and Timothy Allen; and his siblings, Banjo Nicholas and Phyllis Harris.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his son Robert (Sam); and his cousins, David and Shirley Miller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
