He was predeceased by: his spouse Wanda Ingold Amick; his parents, Frederick Lafayette and Martha Jones Amick; and his siblings, Ellen UpChurch, Myrtle Lowe, Marvin Amick and Lewis Amick.

He is survived by: his children, Nancy Slaughter (Ronald) of Whitsett, Sharon Lanning (Steve) of Salisbury and Jeff Amick of Julian; his grandchildren, Jonathan Slaughter (Laurell) and Christopher Slaughter (Lindsey); and his great grandchildren, Greta, Ruby, Ryan and Lily Slaughter.
