Glenwood Norris Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Glenwood Norris Sr. (Kannapolis, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 28, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Lincoln Norris and Mattie Griggs Norris; his wife Phyllis Bost Norris; and his siblings, Walter Norris, Jessie Norris, Bobby Norris, Johnnie Mae Norris and Catherine Simpson.
He is survived by: his children, Glenwood Norris, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Athens, AL, Curtis Norris (Barbara) of Madison, AL, Mark Norris (Donna) of Concord, NC, Edwin Norris of St. Augustine, FL and Cecelia D. Bost of Byhalia, MS; his sister Betty Green of Upper Marlboro, MD; and his caregiver Mary Knox of Kannapolis, NC. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Bethel AME Zion Church (2219 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Va National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144).
