He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jacqueline Hallman Browning; his parents, John Winford Browning, Sr. and Alma Ora Barts Browning; and his siblings, Curtis Lee Browning, Sr., Malinda Browning Hurley, Christine Browning Tyson and Mildred Leona Browning Allen.
He is survived by: his daughter Bridget Browning McSwain; his son-in-law Nelson Todd McSwain; and his grandchildren, Lindsay Nicole McSwain and Cody Barrett McSwain (Micaela Fawn McSwain) of Mint Hill, NC.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be sent to North Kannapolis United Methodist Church.
