She was predeceased by : her parents, James Hatley Outen and Margaret Cox Eagle Outen; her children, James Edward Barnett and Cynthia Diane Barnett; and her brother Charles Outen.

She is survived by : her children, Vickie B. Austin of Kannapolis, Roger Dale Barnett of Salisbury and Kenneth Eugene Barnett of Rockwell.
