He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Edward Lawing and Ruth Inez Norris Lawing; his wife Mildred Irene Lawing; his grandson Jason Salter; and his siblings, Donald Webster Lawing, Dell Raye Benfield and Steven Lane Lawing.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Salter (Andre') of Kannapolis and Mark Lawing (Sharon) of Kannapolis; his grandchildren, Brandi Smith, Erin Galletto, Mark Yow, Natalie Tipton, Zack Lawing and Haley Lawing; and his sister Kay Hicks.
