He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Delwood Newsome and Ida Mae Potter Newsome; his brothers, Henry Sylvester Newsome and Donald Ray Newsome; and his great grandchild Briley Kate Stephenson.
He is survived by: his children, Garry Thomas Newsome II (Tabatha) and Wendy Charoleen Keif (Kevin); his sister Betty Lou Riggins; the mother of his children Brenda S. Newsome; his grandchildren, Preston Wilkins, Ashley Newsome Stephenson, Kelsey Wilkins, Heather Parker and Michael Hardison; and his great grandchildren, Wayde Peele, Malakai Beard, Jayden MacLean, Bentley Stephenson, Everett Hardison and Kolbie Hardison.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parrish Funeral Home, Inc. (1351 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
