He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Orville and Jeannine "Jean" Yates Jones; and his nephew Robert Seth Cannada. He is survived by: his sister Linda Jones Cannada (Wayne); his sibling's children, Stephanie Melton of Kernersville, Paul Jackson (Mandi) of Kernersville and Jennifer Wagoner (Kenny) of Kernersville; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin Melton, Lauren Melton, Isabella Mills, Avery Jackson, Mackenzie Jackson, Clinton Wagoner, Carter Wagoner, Morgan Wagoner, Jaidyn Pond and Watson Cannada.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cumby Family Funeral Service - High Point (1015 Eastchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor James's loving spirit by making a kind gesture to a stranger and pass on his love for people and helping others.
