Herman Lee Norfleet Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Herman Lee Norfleet Sr. of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 8, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Madge Williams and Thomas Norfleet of Belhaven; and his siblings, Thomas Norfleet, Buster Norfleet, Hurbert Norfleet, Florene Bateman and Lisa Marie Norfleet.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Sanderlin Norfleet; his children, Herman Lee Norfleet, Jr. (Terri) and Toni Lynn Norfleet (John); his pets, Kelly, Sparky and Tucker; his siblings, Fay Fletcher (Billy) of San Antonio, TX, Neba Hilts (Elwood) of Elizabeth City, NC, Jean Chase (Herb) of Elizabeth City, NC and Alvin Norfleet (Sheila) of Camden, NC.; and his close friends, Frank "Whit" Whitford of Colington and Judith H. Fearing of Nags Head. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sanderlin Cemetery. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Herman's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Elizabeth City Salvation Army or the Colington Fire Department.
