It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Cook Abernathy (Kings Mountain, North Carolina), who passed away on February 7, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hamp Cook and Mittie Cook; her husband Joseph "Joe" Abernathy Jr.; and her children, Frances Abernathy and Charles Abernathy.
She is survived by: her children, Clyde Abernathy (Sharon) and Phyllis McDaniel (Larry, Gladys Harrelson); her grandchildren, Dana Seigler, Scotty Wilson, Robert McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, Bobby Abernathy, Kim Smith, Rebecca Ball and Andrew "Tyler" Harris; and her great grandchildren, Kolton, Anna, Alex, Josh, Houston, Aubrey, Tori and Dylan.
