She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Robert Lattie and Winnie Moss Chaney; her husband Loyd Short; her siblings, Grady Lee, Robert Howard, Johnny Lee, Jack Chaney, Lucille Chaney Gladden, Loretta Chaney, Peggy Chaney, Martha Sue Rhea, Edith Chaney Millwood and Doretha "Sis" Chaney; and her son Mark Short.
She is survived by: her son Chris Short (Lynn) of Kings Mountain; and her grandchildren, Chad Short of Kings Mountain, Tyler Short of Kings Mountain, Brandy Short of Kings Mountain, Brett Short of Kings Mountain, Craig Foster of Kings Mountain, Stephanie Broome of Kings Mountain, Amanda Willis of Kings Mountain and Casey Short (Victoria) of Tarboro, NC.. She is also survived by her 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
