He was predeceased by: his father James C. Mills; and his wife Debbie McLawhorn Mills. He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Mills and Valerie Lyons (Rich Lyons); his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Emaleigh, Gracie, Jessica Starling (Matt Starling), Avery, Carter and Bennett; his mother Mary Neal Ranson Mills; his father-in-law Charles H. McLawhorn; his brother Jim Mills; his sisters-in-law, Sally, Connie and Cindy; and his close friend Myra Goodwin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be made to The David Mills Congregational Care Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 2101 North Heritage Street, Kinston 28501.
