He was predeceased by: his parents, Durwood Brinkley and Hazel Smith Brinkley. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Tiller (David) of Seven Springs, Donna Shelman of Kinston, Stephanie Brinkley of Richlands and Brandon Brinkley of Richlands; and his brothers, Darren Brinkley of Deep Run and Darrell Brinkley of Kinston. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
