She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Swindell and Annie Laura Swindell; her husband Chris Arthur Alex; and her sister Christine Harrison (Isaac). She is survived by: her daughters, Janet "Cookie" Pearson (Ronnie) of Kinston and JoAnn MacHamer of Atlanta; her granddaughters, Michelle Moore and Sara Kroening; and her great grandchildren, Riley Moore, Chloe Kroening and Caroline Kroening.
