She was predeceased by: her husband R. Lloyd Whitfield, Sr.; her son Lloyd Whitfield, Jr.; her parents, Leslie Tripp and Mamie Bennett; and her siblings, Alton Tripp, Esther Sundin and Betty Lydem.

She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth Whitfield; and her grandson Will Jackson.
