Eleanor Grainger Whitaker Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 21, 2021, at the age of 83, Eleanor Grainger Whitaker of Kinston, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Murray Whitaker of Kinston, NC. and Eleanor Edwards Whitaker of Kinston, NC.; and her husband Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Whitaker. She is survived by: her stepchildren, Patricia W. Angell of Boise, ID, Nancy W. Morris of Farmville, VA, Terry Jane Gottleib of Sandy Hook, CT, Anne B. McEwan of Southbridge, MA and Dr. Dane M. Whitaker; her godson Patrick Archie Chavez of Pacific Palisades, CA.; and her cousins, Eleanor Grainger White Hunter, Sarah Elizabeth Waters, Martha Mayo, Jeff and Ellen. She is also survived by her extended family and as an only child, she considered her first cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lenoir County SPCA or Queen Street United Methodist Church Music Fund.
