He is survived by: his children, Rose Smith Grady (Roger) of Kinston, Lena Smith Whaley (Sidney) of Kinston and Eugene Smith Jr. (Lisa) of Kinston; his grandchildren, Chris Smith (Mary Ann), Riley Grady (Tracy), Sharron Hinson, Kelly Brinn (Aaron) and Brandi Grist (Martin); and his brother Rev. A. G. Smith (Lula) of Kinston.
