She is survived by: her children, Ann Scott and Nelson Alton Carter, Jr.; her grandchildren, Thomas W. Westbrook, Candice Sutton and Jessica Westbrook; her great grandchildren, Aaron Sutton, Johnea Sutton, Jarmarie Sutton, Shianne Westbrook, Hannah Westbrook, Andrew Sutton, Malakice Taylor and Dakota Taylor; and her brothers, Livington David Herring and Ralph Herring.
