It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnie Aldon Smith Jr. of Kinston, North Carolina, born in Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on November 6, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Sr. Smith and Betty Smith; his wife Berta; and his siblings, Charlie Smith, Lena Smith and Mary Lou Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Johnnie Aldon Smith, III (Wanda) of Dover and Connie Smith Rouse (Michael) of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Johnnie Aldon Smith, IV (Jay) of Kinston, Spenser Michael Rouse (Sydney) of Goldsboro, Cody Creech (Jacob) of Farmville, Kenneth Aldon Rouse of Goldsboro, Stephanie Archino of Deep Run, Jennie Parker of Kinston and Ashley Deaver (Josh) of Hugo; his great grandchildren, Colton Michael Rouse of Goldsboro, Tres, Laurel Archino of Deep Run, Cason Cox of Kinston, Jenna and Connor Deaver of Hugo; his friend Betty Taylor; and also Jeanne Norman. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Covid Unit at UNC Lenoir Hospital for their support and care of our family during this time.
