It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Juanita Gillikin Hayes of Kinston, North Carolina, who passed away on June 6, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Lucy Jones of Kinston; her husband Jimmy Hayes of Kinston; and her stepson Larry Hayes of Kinston. She is survived by: her sister Betty Byrd of Kinston; her stepson Jay Hayes of Cape Carteret; her nieces, Ginger Hodges (Claud) of Washington and Harvette Poole (Bob) of LaGrange; her nephew Mike Byrd (Karen) of Deep Run; her stepgrandson Dale Hayes of Pamlico; and her siblings-in-law, Sandy Morgan (Davis) of Orlando, FL and Ernest "Boo" Hayes of Kinston.
