He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Tingle and Mildred Tingle; and his brother Bruce Tingle. He is survived by: his wife Alice; his sons, Kelly (Tracy) of Kinston and Scott (Caroline) of Fleming Island, FL; his granddaughter Nola Scott of Fleming Island; his brother-in-law Doug Starr (Pam) of Rocky Mount; his niece Rachel Starr of Raleigh; and his siblings, Freeda Caccioppoli (John) of Florida, David E. Tingle (Linda) of Texas and H. Alan Tingle.
