She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Lee Faulkner and Maude McLawhorn Faulkner; her husband Lewis Carlton Gooding; and her siblings, Robert Faulkner, Ike Faulkner, Ervin Faulkner, Ora Hadnot and Minnie Lou Daughety.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Gooding, Paula Parks (Lee) and Carlton Gooding (Wynne); her grandchildren, Ryan Schaut, Brent Gooding, Alexandra Gooding, Lucas Gooding, Leah Gooding Ansley Gooding and Zeke Gooding; and her great grandchild Cohen Schaut. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church 2600 Rouse Road, Kinston, NC 28504 in Mrs. Gooding's memory.
